The ACD has been on FreeUK since soon after it launched in 1998. FreeUK is a free dialup ISP that provides 25Mb of free web space. They provide an excellent service with no adverts and don't seem to object to the bandwidth that 4000 unique visitors per day consume. One limitation though is that it can only host static web pages so interactive services like a forum are not possible.

In 2005 a friend offered to host a forum on his server. He is now a member of the forum under the name slimline.

The ACD as a whole earns a small income from hotel bookings (enough to pay for the domain name but nowhere near enough to give up the day job!). Please do use this link to make your hotel bookings. It's a good service and the prices are very competitive.

If you'd like to support the forum in particular then please make a contribution to slimline's PayPal account. Slimline's Localinet hosts the forum for us. Thanks to him we get good performance and no adverts. Slimline is not able to work because of poor health.
