my wife is not a smoker but i think i'm gonna be able to talk her into cannabis edibles. which coffee shop would you guys recommend for us. keep in mind that my wife is quite the sober peoples and i don't want her to have a bad first experience with the herb. i'm thinking maybe we'll get one cake and half it. of course i'll be hittin that choke too so my worries are nil. |

I remember eating a space cake the first time I went to A'dam, me and my mate ate a piece each and waited an hour, we thought nothing happened so we decided to go and get some shrooms, we stood up and immediately sat back down again in a synchronised fashion and then we knew it was working!!! |

when i was there a few weeks ago i tried the chocolate cake from homegrown fantasy, had the whole thing and really enjoyed my 8 hour flight back to NY. they have other flavors as well and the shop itself is neat and clean - so any one should be comfortable eating whatever they bake. _________________ Religion Race Color Creed... personally, for those who are the "sober" types ... going to Amsterdam
could be a personal hell for that "sober" person. Drug use is generally a very individual experience, and depending upon the person's mental and physical constitution that person trying it (i.e. "repressed" sober person), could have very varied.. and even unpredictable reactions, if any.
I am generally against the idea of "sobers" going to A-dam to try the stuff. You should TRY it (at home) first BEFORE you go to A-dam and make a fool of your American self. Also, Americans are generally not well-liked because of their cavalier attitudes. Demonstrating some humility and patience will get you further than acting petulent. Further, being a novice/sober entering a coffeeshop to buy weed, is very much like entering a haute couture clothier on Rrodeo drive without ANY clue as to what the designer makes, offers or displays.
Wouldn't YOU as the shop owner react in a funny manner? People are people no matter where you go. If you intend on patronizing a coffeeshop, have some idea of what you are looking for, doing, etc.
Otherwise, you WILL have a bad experience. Many disgruntled (Americans) tend to blame the dealer, and even post bad reviews, when in fact those reviews or experience's couldnt' be farther from the truth because they themselves are partly the blame (funny how people don't see things like that).
Now, for those who have actually smoked, space cakes are generally a waste of euros. In my opinion, they are meant more for novice sober types, as the content ratio of herb to brownie is disproportionately high in favor of the brownie. This is true for Dampkring in particular (where I have ingest 3 space cakes and found little more than a mild buzz).
Oh funny story, for anyone who has been to Dampkring recently... within last few months, did any of you see the white cat (with brown or tan patches) laying on the window sill? I have never seen a cat MORE high, and more lazy! LOL...
Anyway, I rant.. my point, CHRONICS, like some of the forum members here (as well as me), are much more resilient to the "commercial" herb products. Stick to the local coffeeshops which sell weed that blazes even the likes of experience smokers like me.. (222 is my favorite place - bubblegum white skunk, when available is BRUTAL).
ok, its time to shower and go to work.. _________________ <=-Weedman-=> |

ok, its time to shower and go to work.. | lol....my wife has always been the "sober" one. although i swear up and down she used to get a contact high. back in the day when me and my buddies actually smoked IN the house she would always be the first to say, "i'm hungry...?"
if she even does decide to "try" it, we will of course retreat to the hotel room. i'd hate for her to have a bad experience.
i actually came to appreciate her soberness because it allows her to take care of me...hehe. is that selfish? |

Now the only cakes I have ever had I havent really noticed...its true I was already stoned when I bought them but you would expect to feel something.
Personally I would recommend HashShakes over cakes any day of the week.
Quite a few places do shakes, my favourites were purchased at the Hill Street coffeeshop on Nieuwmarkt. They seem to put quite a bit in so you might ask them to make it with a little less for your good lady.
When I went with a mate in the summer of 2004 it was so hot you could hardly walk between coffeshops...2 days in a row we bought some Shakes from Hill Street and crashed out in our hotel for a couple of hours until it was cooler.
MMMmmmmm Im glad Im going back soon...I really fancy a Shake right now. _________________ You missed it right? |

LOL erf.. fortunately, my wife is quite the chronic-meister like myself..but these days.. we have cooled off... a reserved our smoking to trips to A-dam... it is tough to find quality product in the US because of repressed
politicians and their antiquated modes of thinking.. but what say people on this issue: WILL POT BE LEGAL IN THE US ANY TIME SOON???! _________________ <=-Weedman-=> |
